MEIMELALI.COM: Police Officer Died On Duty While Securing President’s Visit In Ubud.
A 54-year-old police officer named Aiptu Anak Agung Gede Putra who was securing the President during his visit in Ubud has died while on duty. The police officer reportedly died from a heart attack.
The police officer who had been stationed at Catus Pata guardhouse on Ubud intersection died while working with other several institutions such as military officers, public civil services, and village officials on Tuesday afternoon (16/3). The joint forces were positioned at the location since early morning to set the area into temporary lockdown as they welcomed the president.
Officials were on standby when the president arrived at the Ubud Palace at noon. Suddenly, officers ran towards Catur Pata guardhouse to help Gede Putra who lost consciousness while on duty. After doing a quick medical test on-site, the medical staff was unable to detect his pulse and he was immediately rushed to Aricanti Hospital in Mas village Ubud.
Moments later, officers were informed that Gede Putra had passed away. The Head of Gianyar Police Department, AKBP Dewa Made Adnyana confirmed the incident. “Gede Putra died from a heart attack while he was on duty. He previously had been regularly treating his heart disease at Bhayangkara Hospital in Denpasar prior to his death,” AKBP Adnyana concluded.
