MEIMELALI.COM: Jimbaran Guest House Damaged By Fire.
A guest house that is located in Jalan Jepun Kampung Number 168, Jimbaran South Kuta caught on fire on Tuesday afternoon (13/4).
The Head of the South Kuta Police Department, AKP Yusak Agustinus Sooai confirmed that the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon around 12:30pm. “The fire was spotted by a taxi driver who was passing by the building, when he saw the fire he immediately informed the staff of the guest house.” AKP Yusak said.
When the staff went to the back of the building, the fire was already spreading to the roof which was made out of straw. After seeing that, the staff tried to call the other staff including the guests who were staying there to help extinguish the fire. “According to information from the taxi driver, he thought it was just burning rubbish. The fire spread rapidly as the roof was made out of very flammable material.” AKP Yusak added.
The hotel staff also called the National Electricity Company (PLN) to shut down their power supply to prevent further damage to other nearby buildings. The fire was finally put out using 4 fire trucks from the Badung Fire Department at around 2:15pm. “10 rooms of the guest house were burned down along with some important documents.” AKP Yusak concluded. The incident is still being investigated to find what caused the fire.
