MEIMELALI.COM: Bali Authorities Inspected Cafes In Kuta That Violated Curfew.
Joint forces from Police, Military and Public Civil Service Officers have inspected cafes and night clubs in the Kuta area that have violated the curfew.
The Head of Kuta Police Department, Kompol I Nyoman Gatra said that the operation was conducted in accordance to the Governor’s decree Number 07/2021 about the extension of community based partial lockdowns in Bali. “We initiated this operation as we were informed that some businesses in the Kuta area have been neglecting the curfew while operating.” Kompol Gatra said.
The officers began their operation by patrolling Jalan Dewi Sri while informing the cafes around the area with a loudspeaker from the police car to close their dine-in operation as it was after the 10pm curfew. Shortly after, businesses began to follow the officers’ instruction by telling their customers to leave. But apparently their compliance didn’t last long, when the officers came back to the location a few minutes later, most of those cafes had started to welcome more guests when they were not being supervised.
As a response, the officers from Public Civil Service decided to force the people to leave and gave the cafe owners some warnings. Apart from that area, the officers also inspected some other areas such as Jalan Legian, Jalan Pantai Kuta, Jalan Camplung Tanduk and Jalan Dhyana Pura to assure that everyone is complying with the partial lockdown policy. “We also found some business owners who tried to defend themselves by telling us that they knew nothing about the curfew, but we all know that they were lying. We only gave them warnings this time, but we won’t tolerate any disobedience in the future. All violators will be penalized in accordance with government regulations.” Kompol Gatra concluded.
