MEIMELALI.COM: Man Possibly Faces Prison Life Sentence After Attempting To Transport Narcotics In Bali.
A 28-year-old man named Lu Ming Fee will possibly face a prison life sentence after allegedly attempting to transport narcotics from a hotel located on Jalan Raya Kuta.
The Prosecutor from the Denpasar District Attorney, Ni Made Suastini Ariani confirmed that Ming Fee has attended his first trial on Friday (21/5) after being arrested for attempting to deliver a package of crystal meth weighing 1,517 gram from a hotel in the Kuta area. During the interrogation, the suspect admitted that he was asked to deliver the drugs by his brother who is still currently serving a sentence inside Kerobokan Prison.
“The suspect admitted that he was asked to take the drugs from the hotel by his brother, Lu Bing Jin who is currently serving a 17 year sentence at the Kerobokan prison.” Ariani said on Friday (21/5). Previously, Lu Bing Jin was sentenced with 17 years of imprisonment for a similar case. Meanwhile Lu Ming Fee was sentenced for violating three different articles of the narcotics constitution. As a result, he will possibly face a life sentence of imprisonment for being involved with drug trafficking in Bali.
After hearing the demand from the Prosecutor, the suspect and his lawyer didn’t file any objection to the Judges. Lu Ming Fee was arrested on the 22nd of January 2021 around 7:00pm from a hotel in Kuta. Prior to the arrest, he was asked by his brother to take a hotel key from a stranger in front of a hospital that is located on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, after receiving the key he immediately went to the hotel in Kuta and went inside the room to pick up the drugs. Apparently, at that point the suspect was already being followed by officers, and he was arrested in the parking lot of the hotel along with the evidence.
