MEIMELALI.COM: Bali Authorities Will Potentially Sanction People Who Refuse The Covid-19 Vaccine.
Authorities from the Jembrana region will implement a reward and punishment policy while distributing the Covid-19 vaccine in their region.
Jembrana Regent, I Nengah Tamba expressed his disappointment to the Head of Jembrana’s Sub-Districts as the Covid-19 vaccine distribution in his area is still far from their target. “From a total of 224,983 residents who were targeted to receive their Covid-19 vaccine in Jembrana, only 96,327 of them have received the first dose, So we have only reached around 42.82% of our target, and that’s disappointing.” Tamba said on Tuesday (15/6).
During a meeting, Tamba urged his team to start implementing a reward and punishment policy to accelerate the Covid vaccine distribution in the Jembrana region. “We plan to implement different sanctions such as suspending people’s wages, public administration services and even suspending village cash assistance programs to people who refuse the vaccine.” Tamba added. Tamba asked his team to find out the cause of their low achievement rate on their vaccination program.
“I just want to know whether it’s because of our lack of promotion and education regarding this program or the lack of people’s awareness about the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine, so we need to act fast to find a solution.” Tamba concluded. In order to push his team to increase the vaccine distribution, Tamba targeted the vaccination program in Jembrana to finish in the next 38 days. Meanwhile the Head of Jembrana Health Agency, Dr. I Gusti Bagus Ketut Oka Parwatha claimed that he’s optimistic that the vaccine distribution will be finished as expected. “We will optimize the vaccination program by distributing to at least 3,000 people each day.” Parwatha said.
