MEIMELALI.COM: Bali Authorities Stated That Emergency Partial Lockdown Offenders Could Potentially Face Imprisonment.
Authorities from Buleleng Police Department have announced that offenders of the emergency partial lockdown could potentially face imprisonment as a form of punishment.
The Head of Operations from the Buleleng Police Department, Kompol AA Wiranata Kusuma confirmed that he has announced this official statement in Buleleng region to anticipate any offenders during the implementation of the emergency partial lockdown in his area. The police have deployed around 1,126 officers to assure that everyone is complying with the partial lockdown’s policy.
“We have deployed our officers to every village in order to optimize our supervision over the implementation of the emergency partial lockdown in those areas.” Kompol Kusuma said. He also reminds the people to keep complying with the rules during the partial lockdown to avoid any sanction that might be given to offenders. “Any offenders would be sanctioned with administrative punishments or even imprisonment if necessary.” Kompol Kusuma added. He also warned people to stop spreading misinformation regarding the Covid-19 pandemic that might cause problems in the future.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Buleleng Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Gede Suyasa explained that the government has implemented more restrictions during the emergency partial lockdown in comparison with the regular partial lockdown such as closure for all tourist attractions and public facilities to prevent Covid-19 case from surging. Despite the increase of Covid cases recently, Suyasa confirmed that the majority of Covid patients have already recovered. “Despite the surge of Covid-19 cases recently, our recovery rate is still above 93%, while our hospital occupancy is only 30%.” Suyasa concluded.
