MEIMELALI.COM: Bali Residents Receive No Compensation During The Emergency Partial Lockdown.
Bali officials have confirmed that the provincial government hasn’t received any compensation that was previously promised by the central government to support Bali residents during the emergency partial lockdown.
The Spokesman of the Denpasar Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Dewa Gede Rai confirmed that Denpasar city government hasn’t received the social support from the central government to help Bali residents survive during the implementation of the emergency partial lockdown. “Nope, we haven’t received any instruction regarding the social support neither from the central government or the city government for our people during this partial lockdown.” Gede Rai said.
Gede Rai also explained that even other Bali regions who had been receiving the highest earnings from the tourism sector prior to the Covid-19 pandemic such as the Badung region hadn’t planned to provide any assistance to their people due to lack of resources since the Covid-19 pandemic struck. However, the Denpasar city government still provided food aids to the asymptomatic Covid patients who have to undergo self-isolation at home.
He also said that the city government has been waiting for further instruction from the President in providing assistance for the people who are financially affected during this emergency partial lockdown. Meanwhile the Head of the Badung Information and Communication Agency, I Gusti Ngurah Gede Jaya Saputra confirmed that the central government would provide food aids that will be delivered in the near future for the Badung region. “We were just informed that the central government will deliver some assistance programs such as food aids in the near future, so we just need to wait for that.” Saputra concluded.
