Officials from the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office have deported a family of three back to Russia for overstaying in Bali.
The Head of the Bali Law and Human Rights Minister, Jamaruli Manihuruk confirmed that three Russian nationals who have been identified as Pavel Kablukov, Shuiskaia Ekaterina and their daughter have been deported through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Monday (17/7). “The three of them were deported on Monday evening around 6:55pm through the Jakarta Airport.” Jamaruli said on Wednesday (21/7).
Jamaruli explained that the expats were deported for violating Article 78 Number 3 of Constitution Number 6 Year 2011 about Immigration. “Three of them were caught for overstaying in Bali without extending their permit and according to our constitution, expats who overstay for more than 60 days after their permit expires will be deported and blacklisted.” Jamaruli added.
The three expats were captured in the Sanur area on Thursday (15/7) by immigration officials. Jamaruli also stated that the Immigration Office has been focusing on supervising foreign nationals who decided to stay in Bali during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as assuring them to keep complying with prevention protocols during their stay. “We keep on watching all the expats who have been staying in Bali, as any prevention protocol offenders might face the same consequences if they get caught.” Jamaruli concluded.
